The automatic TRO measuring device for ships, developed by Techcross, has won the “108th IR52 Jang Yeong-sil Award.”

The Jang Yeong-sil Award was established to promote corporate technological development by recognizing research organizations with outstanding achievements in new technology products and innovation. Techcross first received the award in 2011 for its self-developed ballast water management system and has now been honored for a second time.

The award-winning product, the automatic TRO measuring device, is an essential device for electrolysis-type ballast water management system, measuring residual chlorine concentration in real time. It is the first in the world to apply a three-wavelength measurement analysis method and an intrinsically safe explosion-proof structure, securing both quality and safety. In addition, it enhances durability against harsh ship environments, allows easy maintenance without disassembly, and boasts a high accuracy rate of over 94% thanks to the newly developed high-turbidity correction technology.

Techcross Central Research Center stated that this device will be further advanced into a multi-functional sensor by incorporating IoT technology, enabling comprehensive water quality data analysis and prediction. The goal is to establish it as a core technology for smart environmental management and compliance with international environmental regulations.
