2018-03-09

The long depression in shipbuilding business seems to an end, and the number of new orders is bouncing back from the bottom. Orders for both of newbuilding and retrofit are on the rise this year toward Techcross. In particular, Techcross has secured successive orders for mega retrofit projects based on turn-key solution, and it is regarded as a timely moment to check retrofit response mechanism that Techcross has built till now.
As to newbuilding area for Korean shipyards, Techcross recently won a mega VLOC project followed by other ones for Tankers including VLCC and LNGC to be secured very soon. Also, Techcross has been keeping its superior position in Japanese market, while being optimistic about winning some of profitable projects in China. As a result, Techcross is expected to record a sharp rise in the newbuilding orders this year.
When it comes to retrofit market, Techcross is playing a remarkable leading role with a number of retrofit orders, including the ones of turn-key based LNGC and large Bulk Carriers from Korean and Japanese ship owners and Singaporean ship management companies respectively. The vessels are scheduled to be retrofitted with ECS in Korea, Singapore and Panama by Techcross team on the basis of turn-key contract having comprehensive scope of works, such as supply of system, engineering, installation with materials procurement, supervision and commissioning. Techcross is now negotiating the details with several designated repair shipyards to make conclusions on the specific scope of installation works.
Techcross’ successful accomplishment of these projects will lead them to step up their capability and inner system specialized to cope with the retrofit demand on turn-key solution from the customers who do not rely on their own engineering and installation works. Techcross said “We will keep trying to be proactive, responding to various demands on the rise after achieving USCG type approval for ECS in the very near future.”
