On January 26, Techcross, a comprehensive environmental company, and
Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER) signed a business agreement for the
commercialization and technology collaboration to enhance green hydrogen mass
production technology. The signing ceremony took place at KIER headquarters in
Daejeon and was attended by 10 people, including Director Lee Chang-geun of
KIER and President Park Seog-won of Techcross.
The introduced technology focuses on the 250kW-class of water
electrolysis stack module technology, which forms the foundation for MW-scale
commercialization. It also includes core expertise in structure design and
manufacturing for water electrolysis stack scale-up, enhanced durability
electrode production and evaluation, and high-efficiency diffusion layers design
and production. By utilizing this technology, not only can the efficiency of
hydrogen production be improved by over 6% compared to existing domestic
technologies, but the durability for operation under load fluctuation, and
operation range for integration of renewable energy can be improved by more
than 20% compared to existing technologies, making the possibility of
competitiveness with leading overseas companies in the same field.
Techcross, possessing original water electrolysis technology and
mass production facilities, is accelerating research and development in
relevant fields and expanding its business to ensure the successful
commercialization utilizing the introduced water electrolysis technology and
early entry into overseas markets. |
