Minister, Ministry of Science and ICT), Korea Institute of Energy
Research (KIER), Commercializations Promotion Agency for R&D Outcomes Ceremony held together with site
visit by Green Hydrogen Intermediary Research Organization
The Opening Ceremony of Techcross Gyeongin Research Center (Hydrogen Test Center) was held on 28 October in Hwaseong. Industry officials including Yong Hong-taek
(1st Vice Minister, Ministry of Science and ICT(“MSIT”)), Kim Jong-nam (President, Korea
Institute of Energy Research(“KIER”)), and the Commercialization Promotion Agency for R&D Outcomes
attended the ceremony to celebrate the opening as well as to visit Techcross
R&D site for the purpose of promotion of public research outcome utilization.
Techcross expressed its ambition to build a
world-class green hydrogen energy value chain and promote it as another
sustainable business growth engine through commercialization, verification and
performance improvement of the green hydrogen production technology transferred
from KIER.
Yong Hong-taek, the 1st Vice Minister of MSIT, and Kim Jong-nam, the President of the KIER, all highly expected that Techcross would play a key role to achieve the nation’s goal of carbon neutrality through its successful research outcome for the green energy. They also anticipated Techcross would give a
positive impact on making Korea stand out in the field of green hydrogen
technology as one of the major future economic growth engines.
Meanwhile, Techcross made a contract with
KIER last June for a technology transfer from KIER on the production of green
hydrogen alkaline water electrolysis last June and is underway for a
demonstration and research project by 2024 to promote its commercialization. |
