ECS’ HMI Innovation
2015-12-14

TECHCROSS’ ballast water management system, ECS (Electro-CleenTM System) consists of ECU (Electro Chamber Unit), PDE (Power Distributor Equipment), ANU (Auto Neutralization Unit), TSU (TRO Sensor Unit) and CPC (Control PC). HMI (Human Machine Interface) installed on CPC to control and operate ECS and now HMI V2 is released to update the software user friendly.

Project of “development of HMI V2” has been launched from August, 2014 aiming for upgrading operation model in accordance with PNID. HMI V2 focuses user-centered ; not only performance improvement but convenience to operate monitor screen which applied PNID to assist the operator and ship crew. Also, HMI V2 integrated separate APT control system to main BWMS which made it possible to eliminate the additional CPC for APT.

Upon completion of this development, HMI V2 has been tested and passed FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) for Japanese owner’s vessel on May 20th and on board tested during commissioning at the Chinese shipyard at the end of October. As of December, 2 vessels completed application of HMI V2, 2 vessels are now processing.

HMI V2 was well appreciated with simple and more convenient UI design. So far 37 vessels are planned to install with HMI V2 in 2016.
