Supporting Equipment
Auxiliary equipment for optimal operation of ECS
  • PDE (Power Distributor Equipment)

    PDE supplies AC220~440V to all other components of ECS and controls communications of all other components.

  • ANU (Auto Neutralization Unit)

    ANU neutralizes the treated ballast water before discharge since the level of TRO (Total Residual Oxidant) is required to be reduced to 0.1ppm before discharge to avoid a secondary contamination by the discharge of residuals. ANU is designed to automatically dose an adequate amount of neutralizing solution according to the result of TRO measurement by TSU.

  • TSU (TRO Sensor unit)

    TSU measures concentrations of TRO (Total Residual Oxidant) produced by ECU during ballasting operation and also checks the TRO level of the treated water during de-ballasting operation so that ANU can neutralize the treated water in an adequate manner according to the measurement of the residuals before discharge.

Control System
To operate ECS
  • CPC (Control PC & S/W)

    Control PC features an upgraded touchscreen interface which is easy and simple to use to operate and control ECS. ECS can be automatically operated by the Control PC with a single touch. Control PC shows all the relevant information relating to other components and saves/backs up all operation data.

Sensors
To monitor temperatures, flows and salinity of water in facilitating the operation of ECS
  • FMU (Flow Meter Unit)

    Measures flow rate of ballast water during ballasting and de-ballasting operation.

  • CSU (Conductivity Sensor Unit)

    Measures electrical conductivity of seawater passing through ECU during ballasting operation.

  • FTS (Freshwater Temperature Sensor)

    Measures temperature of cooling water supplied to a rectifier from vessel.

Others
  • T-strainer

    T-strainer with a 3mm mesh filter is used during ballasting operations to filter out large marine species and foreign materials in the incoming ballast water. It helps to protect electrodes inside the ECU to maintain an optimal performance of ECU for a strong disinfection efficacy.
